The challenge

There is a stigma surrounding the topic of homelessness and the design of products aiming to improve their lives. With more than  700,000 of individuals sleeping outside, in the streets, on any given night throughout Europe, homelessness is a systemic issue that needs and can be resolved through rehousing programs. However many individuals do not have access to these aids. 44.16% of homeless individuals sleep in an environment described as "a place not meant for habitation"(streets, abandoned building, etc.), with little to no belongings and no access to a stable shelter.

The solution

The MHS is a Mobile Homeless Shelter designed to improve the living conditions of rough sleepers (a situation when an individual sleeps outside in the streets), directly on the streets. A product with 4 main elements: a bed (sleep and rest above the ground), a tent (covering the individual from the weather, also providing some privacy), a storage system (store their belongings away), and a chair (to sit down and rest without having to deploy the whole bed). 4 elements that satisfy 4 considerations: compact and practical product, purposeful alternative, low cost and easy access, and warm weathered environment

Mission

Bringing safety and comfort to the streets
